Mission: We have rescued thousands of abandoned dogs from the Everglades National Park area and all surrounding areas, such as Homestead, Redland, & Cutler Bay. These animals need food, water, medical attention and a safe place to call home. The mission is to send teams of volunteers into the everglades to pick up dogs, take them to veterinarians for much needed medical attention, for heartworm, tick diseases, broken bones, malnutrition, abuse, among other things. Then we work tirelessly to help to find loving homes for all the animals, including background checks, home checks and meet and greets. We stop at nothing to make sure these animals end up in loving, caring FOREVER homes. We also work to educate the public and children in the importance of animal care, spay, neuter, & heartworm prevention. And to just get the word out that there is a massive dumping problem down here. We have school programs where we go in and speak with children to get them involved with what is going on, and we even have a youth 100+ page to get them involved with volunteering to help in anyway they can to help support our Rescue mission.
Results: Over 4,000 animals saved to date!!
Direct beneficiaries per year: Hundreds of abandoned, neglected, abused animals.
Geographic areas served: Rural Miami Dade County and the inner cities, also in Broward County we take in strays, owner surrenders, we work closely with police and animal control on animal cruelty cases. We also are partnered with all the local animal shelters to pull dogs off death row.
