My favorite wife :-) is recovering from bilateral knee replacement. The ice pack that you get at Walmart are too small, too light to cover her knee all over. These are the same packs that they use at the Physical Therapy clinic. Very heavy so they stay down and wrapped around the knee. A bit pricier than the WM packs but well worth the $$ if you need them.

Awesome cold pac!! I love how soft and flexible it is, even when it comes right out of the freezer. It's the one my Physical Therapist uses and he told me to get this brand.

the cold pac is excellant but do not leave it on for more than 15 min. for it will freeze you.(but in a good way) this is great for I used to use small gel ice packs and they would last for a very short period of time.

forms well around knee, soft and pliable. These are very durable, but be careful not to sit on it or apply to much weight on it. You could split the seams of the cold pack. Lay it fully flat in the freezer. This one is good size for back, knee, shoulder. similar size as a sheet of paper.

This is by far the best cold therapy I've used. It stays soft and pliable and incredibly cold for the duration of the icing time recommended by my doctor. I've used gel type cold therapy products, but they didn't stay cold for the necessary 20-30 minutes. In addition, the large size of this product treats my entire back in one session.
