I am recovering from shoulder surgery and have tried a number of cold packs from different manufacturers, most of which are not very good (especially the instant cold packs), but have found the 12.5" x 18.5" pack from ColPaC to be the best product out there. In fact, they are a more than suitable replacement for the VascuTherm machine I rented from the doctor's office for $155 a week after the surgery. These packs stay cold the longest, conform around the shoulder area for maximum coverage and are quite durable ~ I use them for low back pain also & have to virtually sit on the ice pack but with no ill effect. In fact, these are virtually identical to the cold packs that are used by the physical therapist. I have purchased 3 so far so that I always have a cold one at the ready. The only real negatives are that they do take a while to get cold again in the freezer after use and it would be nice to have a form fitting cotton sleeve for use when icing, although a pillow case works fine too.Cold Pack - ColPaC Brand - Black Polyurethane - Oversize - 12.5" x 18.5"

Great product, stays cold a long time. The gel inside does not all drain to one side. I just had knee replacement surgery and this is the brand of cold pack that is used at my theropy. I was so impressed I ordered one for home and threw out my collection of drugstore cold packs.

This a great cold pack, it has lots of gel in it and stays cold longer than any cold pack I've ever had. Its also thick and heavy which helps it to stay in place better.

I've been using ColPacs for over 20 years. I have been using the 10 X 13 for about a year now. The black cover is the best they made (I wouldn't buy the blue cover ones - my experience is that they wear out/leak at the seams too quickly). They freeze super cold but stay flexible and smooth (not gritty or crunchy). They'll bend to wrap around a wrist or ankle or lay smooth under a shoulder blade. I keep three in the freezer so I can rotate them all evening. I could manage with two but having the third one insures that I have an extra to share if someone else needs them. BTW - the time that I bought the blue ones and had some issues; the company replaced them under warranty after a single phone call (easy, easy to get warranty replacement).

I purchased the polyurethane Colpac about a year ago and have had good luck with it. I had been using several of the vinyl 11x14 Colpacs, but everyone of them eventually split open(I use it on my back while sitting). So far, I haven't had that trouble with the polyurethane. By now, the vinyl Colpacs would have split open.To me, it's worth the extra cost.

I've used a lot of cold packs in my time and this one is great! Very solid material, I don't worry about it getting punctured. It also stays cold for quite awhile and it folds in half if need be. I ordered the 10 x 13.5 which I like to put on my knee.

I purchased this ColPac as it's what the physical therapist used on me after surgery. I loved it from the start and just had to have one! It never freezes up in the freezer like store-bought ice-packs. Very moldable and feels great! Well worth the money!!

I started using this cold pack after surgery on my shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff. I bought one from my physical therapist as there was nothing available in the drug store that could even come close to comparing to it. The pack stays flexible when stored in the freezer, but still gets really cold. The gel stays put and does not move around. Some reviewers see this as a negative, I see it as a positive, so I guess it really depends on the kind of injury and how you intend to use it. Mine has been in daily use for 6 months, and my therapist uses them multiple times a day every day, so they are durable as well. I am very happy with mine and it has been very effective for icing my shoulder. It's just the right size. It will "sweat" moisture when frozen, but a pillow case or towel stops that.

I had surgery for compartment syndrome and have to ice 2-3 times daily for a couple of months. This oversize ice pack is amazing. i can wrap it around my entire lower leg (calv/shin). Its really cold and uniform. I put a pillow case over it and put it on my leg. So much easier than using ice packs, or regular ice. It just like the ones they use in physical therapy. highly recommend and well worth the money!

I am a big fan of this product and have been using it on a daily basis for several months now to deal with some muscle inflamation in my back. It works great, is large enough to cover the areas I need and sturdy enough to stand up to my use.

This ColPac is the best yet! Be sure and get the Black Polyurethane ColPac. This was the colpac that was used when I was in physical therapy. I was told that this particular Colpac would last a long, long time! I've used mine every day, and it is so much better than those small blue packs that you can buy from the drug stores. The larger sizes are just as good!

My doctor recommended ice to help with pain and swelling from a couple of bad disks. The surface of this pack makes all the difference - does not feel "icy" yet definitely puts the deep freeze on the L5, S1 area of my back, helping to reduce my pain. Stays cold a long time, freezes up quickly again as well. Same kind as used at my chiropractor for years = excellent!Very pleased with this purchase and highly recommended.

I bought this ice pack after I had knee surgery, and it's perfect. It's pliable and moldable, surrounds my whole knee area, and doesn't get warm too quickly.

Having arthritis in several joints, I find cold applications to be most helpful. I have tried many different ice packs over the years, but this one is tops. It's very flexible right out of the freezer, and molds to the joint or other area in need of cold therapy. Stays cold for a full 20 minute treatment cycle, and is good to go again after a short time back in freezer. I found this one when going to physical therapy for tennis elbow, and this is what the therapist used. The size is big enough for knees, shoulders, elbows, hips and lower back. It is very durable...this is my second one; not because the first one deteriorated in any way, but because my husband and I now each have the best cold pack in the house, when we both need to ice up at same time!

Following Total Knee Replacement, ICE!! ICE!! ICE!! is the mantra for a good three months, 3-4 times per day, but the sound of that ice-crusher was making us crazy. I noticed that the Physical Therapy Dept. used these ColPaC Brand coldpacks so asked about them. They said after years of trying many brands, THIS was the one that stayed the coldest, conformed to limbs the best, and did not tear or break down over time.So I ordered one, and I have to say that the ease, the convenience is well worth the cost! I purchased the 12.5 x 18.5and it wraps completely around my new knee. (Recommend slipping inside a pillow case, both to protect skin andabsorb condensation.) I follow the instructions to wipe off moisture before refreezing... FLAT... and it takes up verylittle room in the freezer that way.Even a "hot" knee doesn't warm up the gel quickly- stays icy for about 40-45 min. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
