This product is way too heavy for a shoulder that has been operated on...probably too heavy for any body part that it would lay on top of. It would be fine in a situation where you can press the area that needs to be iced up against the ice pack.

The size is ok however the picture show a nice flat surface but mine came a lumpy. I found the cold pack wasn't very flexible which made this item useless. It was a waste of money and a large bag of frozen peas did a better job

We already own a couple of Chattanooga ColPac's. They are great. Our initial purchase was for gel packs and I guess I ordered the wrong thing, this last time. They were hard as a rock, when frozen and almost impossible to use. A waste of my money bust it was probably my fault, for ordering the wrong thing.

When put in freezer became rock hard, unbendable, and very heavy. Totally useless.

These dry out in the box, especially after being properly stored in the box for a few months. I had to throw 5 of them out. What a waste.

This cold pack was wonderful for a time and then it turned into a pack of hard stones. The gel apparently dried out until just clumps were left. Very very disappointed.

The cold packs arrived with the gel hardened. They are not very malleable.

So heavy I can barely lift it. I am 80. It is the right size and does the job but is a nightmare to lift.

I have a very hard time with this ice pack because it is not flexible enough. I needed an ice pack for my knees and I have a hard time forming at the way that it needs to be. My goal in buying this larger pack was not just to use it for one knee at a time but to use it for both at one time. Unfortunately, it just lays on my knees like a hard board and it is not flexible at all. I would not recommend this to anyone using this on a surface where it needs to be flexible. I also tried to use this on my shoulder but again it is not very flexible and is not easy to wrap around the front to the back of my shoulder. I am very, very disappointed. A bag of peas is a much better way to ice my knee. I wish I could still return this.
