It doesn't fit over the rest of the set so you have to mess a little to keep the entire set strapped together. As a pan it is fine, watch out for scratching from the items below when it is packaged up. But real complaint is it should fit over the rest of the nested set holding everything together like the old sets. Look in the Trangia handbook where it talks about the Trangia principle. The pictures show how an old set used to look like. Now days new cheaper technology in manufacturing etc. and the frypan just sort of floats on top if you have the complete set.

I can't find the Trangia 27-1 HA set for sale anywhere, where everything is hard anodized. So I bought the 27-3 set and also bought this pan to replace the teflon non-stick pan that comes with the 27-3. Now I have basically made the 27-1 HA set since I couldn't just buy it. This pan perfectly replaces the pan that comes with the 27-3. Very nice.

A small upgrade to my 30 year old Trangia stove. These things are magnificent, far outperforming modern and expensive camping stoves. This fryer can go on the opposite side to the original one, so the whole kit wit pans is no larger than before, but now has a second lid or plate for cooking with company. Hard anodization essentially puts a ruby-hard coating on what is otherwise soft metal. You can't scratch it with metal utensils, but it will still bend so be careful where you place the strap buckle.

Nice pan, heats up fast. There is a hot spot in the middle with my gas stove. NOTE: the images for the item show a handle. This DOES NOT come with the handle, you need to purchase one separately.
