Scotch brand tape is a superior company with regard to tape. I tried other less expensive brands with negative results and came back to Scotch Brand tape due to the durability and effectiveness.

While I know some people will buy this for actual electrical work, I bought it in part to cover up LEDs on white devices. While black electrical tape normally does the job with just one layer, this tape is fairly transparent to the lights, so multiple layers were needed.If that's your goal, you might try an alternative option first.
