Programs: The maine 4-h foundation supports youth leadership programs at the state and national level. Youth participate in state level education, and then have the opportunity to attend citizenship washington focus cwf, national 4-h congress and national 4-h conference. Cwf is for youth ages 15-19 from across the country. The program is held in chevy chase maryland at the national 4-h center. Cwf delegates learn about our democratic process and their role as active concerned citizens. National 4-h congress is held every year to bring our teen 4-h leaders together from across the country. Participants are focused on building leadership skills, citizenship, career education and service to our communities. National 4-h conference is a week-long conference inviting 4-h members nationwide to actively participate in assessing the needs of youth across the country and setting a path for future 4-h programming. 4-h youth end the week addressing the national 4-h leadership team with potential future youth programming plans and directional needs for 4-h youth education.

The maine 4-h foundation works with 4-h programs across the state to build support for local clubs, animal science programs and stem education. In addition the maine 4-h foundation helps to raise funds to support our three university of maine 4-h camp and learning centers, our statewide animal science teams, and our science program initiatives. The programs support the education of our 20,000 maine youth combined with over 9,000 4-h youth taking part in our residential programs statewide.

The university of maine 4-h youth development program engages young people in a number of programs including active research with umaine professors and graduate students. 4-h conducts engineering programs on campus, science programs for children and youth, maine 4-h days of exploring animal science and stem in the summer, and a number of new science based initiatives in counties and clubs across maine. Maine 4-h had over 28,000 youth enrolled in 2016
