Mission: A Lion's Heart is a nonprofit organization (EIN # 81-2774850) located in the United States. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate abandoned, abused, starving, and even war torn zoo animals throughout the world. We believe it is a moral responsibility to protect those imprisoned animals that are voiceless and can not protect or provide for themselves. When it seems like there is no hope, we hope to be that hope and light for them. It is on this belief and passion that A Lion's Heart was founded. Our current project is Taiz Zoological Gardens in Taiz, Yemen.

Results: We have been caring for this war torn zoo alone for now two years. Before that, we had a successful partnership with SOS Zoo and Bear Rescue until the project was turned over to us in December 2016.We continue to strive for real change and improvements with our ultimate goal being natural, large, humane structures for all the animals. We also wish to start a conservation program for the Arabian leopards with the release of progeny to ensure Yemen's national animal does not disappear. Our work can be seen on our website and on our page: https://www. alionsheart. org/our-work-in-action-in-taiz-zoo/.

Target demographics: The war torn animals trapped in Taiz zoo.

Direct beneficiaries per year: All animal residents, almost 300, and war torn people by providing jobs for caretakers and this helps support them and their families.

Geographic areas served: Taiz Zoological Gardens in Taiz, Yemen

Programs: We provide veterinary care, nutrition, clean water, and hygiene for the entire zoo. We currently provide for almost 300 animals, including red listed for extinction Arabian leopards.
