Mission: A Place Called Home provides a safe, nurturing environment with proven programs in arts, education, and wellness for the young people in South Central Los Angeles to help them improve their economic conditions and develop healthy, fulfilling and purposeful lives.

Results: Each year APCH provides the following free programs and services:
• 125+ educational, engaging, and enriching classes in education, job development, arts, wellness, and more for our 900+ youth members
• 10+ family and/or community events, such as our Family Film Nights, Backpack to School event, and more
• Thousands of hours of one-on-one and small group tutoring, mentoring, advisement, and supportive services
• 3,000 hours of free, comprehensive mental health counseling services for students and their families
• Computer training and access for homework; in 2020 and 2021 in response to COVID-19 we distributed over 150 laptops to members who didn't have a computer at home
• Over 60,000 nutritious meals APCH offers college preparation and scholarships for our members. Since 2002, we have sent over 460 young people to college, with 74 currently enrolled in college and universities around the country.

Target demographics: Low income and underserved youth (8-22 years old) and families in South Central Los Angeles.

Programs: Our FREE programs offer outstanding enrichment services using proven models to increase youth performance and behaviors socially and academically. These programs include:ARTS & CREATIVE EXPRESSION provides training in music, dance, digital media and fine arts;EDUCATIONAL SERVICES where we provide tutoring, literacy, math, science and a drop-out recovery program through LAUSD;WELLNESS (HEALTH & NUTRITION) that offers daily nutritious meals and snacks, counseling and health resources; COMMUNITY & VOLUNTEER INITIATIVES to empower parents & members towards advocacy and recruiting volunteers to help with APCH's mission;RECREATION/ATHLETICS provides physical education and sports;TEEN & YOUNG ADULT SERVICES offers transitional opportunities for teens to enter into a healthy adulthood.
