Purchased for accurate paper cutting and for cutting paint protection film. This style of cutter would allow me to align and ultimately make razor precise cuts. For the paint protection film, I'd typically have to use scissors which could give wavy and inaccurate cuts. With this Swingline paper cutter, the included grid marks on the cutting table allows me to align and make super accurate cuts. The blade is super sharp and easy to push down for cuts. As you can by the tiny strips/pieces of paint protection film, super fine cuts, of both straight and angled cuts can be made with ease.This is definiately a highly recommended five-star item.

I like the weight. The safety latch is not great. It is hard to latch.I don't think young children should handle this product.Blade will not cut much thickness, but I'm not too worried about that.Overall, this product fits my needs. I am the only user and my art work is not intense.

I wanted to like this, it's sturdy, not too heavy, and has lots of safety features. BUT it is so hard to get an accurate, straight cut. I don't know what it is about the design but it doesn't work.

Would have given this a 5 star if it was a tab bit heavier. Other than that, it works great!

I've had this paper cutter for eight years, and granted, I don't use it very often, but the blade just got dull. I came here to order a new one, as I didn't know if it was possible to sharpen the blade, and in looking through the questions and answers, I learned that the blade is self-sharpening. After moving the arm up and down several times, I tried cutting some paper, and sure enough, it's sharp again. Thanks to those who provided that tip, and thanks to Swingline for a product that is still going strong.

Perfect for my classroom needs. It's small and light, but very sharp on the cuts.

After I opened it I immediately wanted to test the 10 sheet claim. And it sure cuts. Can't speak as to the longevity of the blade but it trimmed up all the stuff I needed, even a real thin cut of like barely more than 1/8 of an inch. The fancy cutter at work even just rips and bends the paper when you try to do that! So far I'm pleased.

Great deal for this type of cutting tool. Worked for what I needed it for (small paper crafts). Would purchase again. It will last me a long time though.

It cuts chipboard like butter. I think it should be a little bit heavier so not to come up off the desk

I wanted a small-ish paper cutter and I got what I wanted! It has measurements in metric imperial measurements, and it's not loud when you bring the guillotine down. I usually cut 1-3 pieces of paper so I'm not sure what its limit is. The safety feature is not the most intuitive, nor does it seem the safest, but I don't plan on just leaving it out on my table. Nice colors too

Accurate, lightweight (plastic) paper cutter that's also reasonably priced. Gives very clean edges and has markings on the board for measuring. Very sharp blade: even though it has a cutting guard, I would not let children use this.

Hard to unlock safety catch. I gave up and now wrap with large rubber band to hold. Utter bar down.

This was worth what I spent for this item (although I did get it on sale). It is so worth the money if you often have projects in which you would use it - HUGE time saver than cutting things by hand and worrying about straight edges. It works effectively, cuts smoothly and is super easy to use!

Easy to use and can cut a lot of tissue paper at once which is what I needed it for.

I bought this to make packaging for keychains for my online shop. I cut many sheets of cardstock as well as light cardboard. I even used it as a wire cutter, although that isn't the intended purpose of the product. While reading some low reviews, I feel like these people expecting too much. Immediately after opening the product, I noticed it was super lightweight and made entirely of plastic, meaning it shouldn't be dealt with too roughly: 2-3 sheets of cardstock at a time, or maybe 5-7 sheets of regular printer paper.The protection guard came in handy, but I think the lock mechanism for the blade is in too awkward of a position. I had to be super cautious locking and unlocking the blade, because the mechanism just doesn't come out or go in smoothly.Overall, this product does the job for the price that I paid, and for what it is.If I had the space, I would get a more study, and larger paper trimmer, but this works very well in terms of portability and for my small desk space.

Works great and it is very light weight I'd prefer it to be a bit heavier.
