Worked fine, until it stopped within a couple months. Everything tested fine but the thermostat wouldn't kick on. Tapped it with a screwdriver and it came on bit I saw it spark internally through a small gap in the end.

My Reliance water heater was shutting down(tripping) the original breaker, so I ordered this replacement and it has worked perfectly for about 5 months. I was about ready to order another water heater and this saved me about $650 dollars. Seems just like the original part so far:-)

After only 6 months it started over heating the water and tripping the reset button. Once it did not trip and the high temp pressure relief valve opened during the night and drained about 20 gals of hot water all over the garage floor. I wish someone else make this product besides Reliance.

Our water heater went out about the same time as our well. When the week was replaced, we didn't have any hot water. We bought the heating element, but found it still didn't work, and noticed the old switch was a little charred, so we're replaced it and have not any problems getting hot water.
