The pictures say it all. A little background. I have a 90 gallon tank with goldfish and bristle nose plecos for cleaning surface algae. My filter is a Fluval FX4 that is rated for a 240 gallon tank. No matter what I did lately, I could NOT get rid of this algae bloom. I was doing small water changes daily, I tried major water changes even. I tried using a phosphorus-removing media in my filter (phosphorus feeds algae). I clean and operate my Oscar tank (150 gallons) the exact same way as my goldfish tank. Neither tank is in direct sunlight. I was at my wit's end with my 90 gallon. I really didn't want to use a product that could potentially hurt my fish or live plants in the tank. When this arrived, I added a dose for a 50 gallon tank instead of 90 gallons just to be safe. I wanted to see how it affected my fauna and flora. I took a quick shower. By the time I got out, I hardly recognized this tank! Within just 15 min, the tank was almost crystal clear. Within an hour, it was the cleanest it's ever been. My water parameters have always been great and both tanks are well-cycled. Between this Alage-Fix and my filter, my tanks are clean and beautiful. The white water polishing pad did wonders to remove the dead green algae the next time I cleaned my filter the next day. HIGHLY recommend, but follow directions. See my before and after pics!

I had a period where no matter how many cleanings I was doing I still had cloudy water and then a greenish tint pretty quickly. I was hesitant to use this as was worried about the fish but was getting frustrated. so like others suggested when I did decide to used 1/2 recommended amount and within a few minutes it was a night and day and had a clear tank again. Perfect for algae bloom

Having read many reviews for this product, I was cautious to not overdose to avoid loss of my aquarium plants and fish. All of the API products are very concentrated so I bought the smallest bottle to use the whole thing. The problem with the Algaefix 1.25 oz bottle is to figure out the correct dose because it comes in dropper form. 20 drops equals 1 ml or cc. That's how I calculated the dose. I needed 10 drops for my 6 gallon tank. My betta fish and plants were fine, but the algae has not been controlled whatsoever. I've used about 5 doses so far. It makes the water very alkaline which concerned me a bit but my fish was not distressed. I continue to have green and black algae despite meticulous care of my filtered tank so I clean the walls of the tank often and wash the decorations.

Perfect solution to a pond so dark with algae that I couldn't see the fish. Cleared it up in just a day or two.

This works, it cleared up my tank in 9 days. Every three days you have to treat, it is as simple as that! Definitely, worth a buy if you need to get rid of algae. I can see the plants and fish clearly now. Love it!
