I brought this one for a coworker, but i still have mine that I got a few years back. It is the best thing to use especially if you want to get your testing done more than 1 or 2 times because with the strips you run out or use several B4 getting the correct balance. So it cheaper in the long run plus you can check other things in your aquarium water.

These tests are very accurate and incredibly easy to use. It's an absolute must have for any freshwater aquarium! The only thing I don't like about it is how fragile the vials are. I broke 2 the very first time I used it.

Shame doesn't have a Kh, Dh kit, should be great all in one

Tests for a variety of things, easy to use with good instructions. As someone who is colorblind, though, it's all but useless to me. With about 8.5 of the population being colorblind you would think they would come up with a better way than using colors for this stuff. Anyway, wife reads it and so far so good. Only concern is that it takes several drops of solution to test, not sure how long they will last. Time will tell.

This works great and handy to have. We don't need to run a sample somewhere we can just test it ourselves at home. Saves time and money.

This is the test kit to buy if you want to take the best possible care of your aquarium. Far more accurate than test strips and in the long run, far cheaper. Be advised that this test kit will require a bit more time to use than the strips but if you want accuracy, this is the kit you need.

Very good test kit for the money. Everything was very accurate. Only think I didn't like is the color for the ammonia test from 0ppm to .25ppm was a little hard to read and distinguish. Very important since it is the ammonia reading. I have just been double checking with an ammonia only test strip to verify. Other than that it is better than the 6 in 1 strips I was using before.

Great kit. Test for all kinds of stuff and shows where the levels need to be. If you have fish you have to have this. It also comes with a handy box so your stuff isn't everywhere which I find quite useful.

There are a lot of testing chemicals, which is helpful for a thorough test. I was able to easily test my tank water and determine the results quickly. Very good kit and much cheaper than my local pet store tests!!

Love this kit and my husband made this holder that makes it easier for me. With arthritis I now don't have to worry about dropping. I labeled the block of wood to not get samples mixed up. Hope this can help others. Something else was to get a pippette to fill the viles to the 5 mil line. All is good.

Crappy comparison chart should have been waterproof difficult to read as it's difficult to compare the colors doesn't seem to give the same reading twice on the same water not really sure if it's worth it at all

I've been using the same API Test Kit for over 10 years now. These tests are far more accurate than using test strips. This kit comes with a detailed instruction manual that should be read carefully. Keep in mind that whenever you mix these solutions with water that you need to wait a few minutes for the reactions and the color changes.This should go without saying, but do not pour the results back into your aquarium. I have actually seen complaints from people that thought they could just empty the contents back into their tanks. This didn't end well for them. If any of these chemicals get on your skin, wash it off as soon as possible. They can cause rashes and itchiness if you leave it.Just be aware that certain tests in the kit require more drops than others, you will be using amounts unevenly and certain tests will run out much sooner, specifically the Ammonia and Nitrate tests will run out before the rest do, since the others require 5 or less drops of solution.

Good product. I'd prefer plastic test tubes as within a week, 4 were broken. Accurate testing, easy to use the color chart is helpful for reading results. My only comment, not necessarily a complaint would be, some of the color parameters are so close in color, it's hard to decide which level your at.

Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up!!
