The test strips I had were always giving false results. I used this test kit today and found out my tank was fully cycled!! While the test strips kept reading 0 nitrate, this test showed me it was at 0.5! Will be only using this from now on!

The kit arrived leaking which is obviously dangerous because you are not supposed to let this stuff touch your skin.

This test kit arrived well packaged and cushioned but as soon as I pulled it out of the box I could hear broken glass and see liquid in the bottom. I opened it up to find that nothing was in place and broken test tube were everywhere.

I got this product and on my first test after filling the tube with water and putting the cap on the tube shattered and split into 2 large pieces with fragments everywhere. Very upsetting and worrying because I do not think the tubes will last long by the way they snap when being capped

This kit measure high end and low end ph ammonia nitrates and nitrites. I can understand not including a test for copper because that's less common but they really should have squeezed in some sort of hardness test for the price.

Get it!!!! I feel like a scientist when I use this thing! Saves a lot of money in the long run. Way better than buying test strips constantly. Great for starting a new tank/diagnosing problems with your fish. Highly recommend.

We needed a good kit for our axolotl tank. This offered everything we needed and then some. Very easy to use and pretty easy to read. We literally use it once a week. Would definitely recommend this product.

I've learned that this is a required tool for freshwater aquarium owners! If I didn't have this, my axolotl would be in terrible shape. These work better than the paper strips that can be used for testing, and it's nice that these are the same bottles that you can buy in the individual testing kit. I use the ammonia testing solution almost every day, so I was able to buy a smaller refill kit and just replace those two bottles instead of replacing the entire testing kit.

This is the first product I've used to check the water quality in my 10 gallon tank. I was very surprised to find my water quality was very poor. Now with the API water test kit I am able to keep my water quality good. I'm so glad I purchased it.

First of all, the instructions for these are great. Absolutely clear and easy to follow in order to get good test results. Be very careful with the test tubes. I had one break while taking the cap off. I guess I held it with a little too much pressure, but it broke and sliced my thumb pretty bad. I don't fault API for this, its glass and glass breaks. However I feel a safer alternative would be plastic.Pros:-Clear instructions and easy to use.-The containers have enough liquid in them to do many tests.-The color chart is easy to read and follow.-Much more accurate than the test strips.Cons:-The glass tubes can break easily.-The container is much larger than it really needs to be. The container can probably be half the size that it is.-Takes more time to get results than with test strips.

having a syringe makes using this kit alot easier. if you buy this buy a syringe also on here or go to walmart there should be one if the cooking area. (where i bought mine)
