Who ever invented the Accubat should win a Nobel prize!OK, so maybe that is a bit of a stretch, but this black beauty is a must own whether you are a baseball coach or enjoy working on skills with your kids in the yard. It allows you to consistently hit pop-ups and grounders to kids in the field. Yes, it takes a few times to master, but once you learn how to use it will dramatically increase the quality of your practices. The Accubat is very well built. We have owned it for several years and despite being thrown in gear bags, bat bags, dropped into the ball bucket, tossed onto the infield dirt, etc. it still works like a charm. My only (minor) complaint is with the grip. The black sponge material does make it easy on the hands but be prepared for your hand to be stained by it. Nothing that a little soap and water won't clean up, but a bit annoying.TIP - This has been said before and is included on the Accubat cover, but proper technique requires the ball to be dropped, NOT tossed into the air, before the ball is struck. You can't use the same toss and hit approach that is done with an actual bat. Doing so will produce bad results including hits off the plastic frame, loss of distance, poor direction, etc. Just hold the ball out, at slightly lower than shoulder level and DROP the ball. Do this and you will be amazed at how much better you can control direction and distance.
