Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: Volo Kids uses the power of play to build communities of active, resilient, and confident kids by providing free youth sports opportunities at no cost to families. The Volo Kids program removes barriers to athletic participation such as limited financial resources and transportation, and is open to children regardless of race, income, gender, or skill-level.
Results: To date, Volo Kids has engaged over 19,000 kids nationwide. The organization currently operates in communities across Baltimore, Boston, Denver, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D. C. Since 2020, Volo Kids now offers a variety of virtual programs to allow kids to stay active both on and off the field.
Target demographics: Our goal is to break down the traditional barriers to youth sports participation so that all kids, regardless of gender, race, age, or experience level, can benefit from the #PowerOfPlay!
Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2021, Volo Kids engaged 5,221 kids and mobilized 960 volunteers across 7 cities nationwide.
Geographic areas served: Volo Kids currently operates in communities across Baltimore, Boston, Denver, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D. C.
Programs: Volo Kids runs a myriad of free youth sports programs, including soccer, basketball, grass volleyball, beach volleyball, flag football, tennis, sailing, dodgeball, and kickball.
