Mission: Africa Development Promise is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives and livelihoods of rural women in East Africa through training and resources that support their collective efforts to operate competitively in the marketplace.

Results: Africa Development Promise currently supports five agricultural cooperatives and one community-based organization in Rwanda - a total of about 320 farmers and 1,600 family members. In Uganda, we support one agricultural cooperative and one community-based organization. Our program has expanded to include a vocational training program that offers computer literacy, tailoring, and business development programs. In addition, we launched a Girls with Dreams program to reach girls between the ages of 13 - 21 with career awareness, after-school programs, and camps during the school holidays. In Uganda, we have reached over 115 individuals.

Target demographics: women farmers transition from subsistence farming to farming for business.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 200 women farmers and their families

Geographic areas served: Rural communities in Rwanda and Uganda

Programs: business development training, cooperative governance and management training, agricultural technical assistance, access to inputs and strengthening market access.
