Stovetop: serves 4 you will need 4 cups of water or milk and 1 cup barley. Bring water to a boil, If using milk, heat to a simmer, stirring to avoid scorching. Gradually add in barley, stirring consistently. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 1 to 3 minutes to desired consistency.

I wanted to try something different than Cream of Wheat. I think it tastes very similar to Cream of Wheat but my kids are not 100% sold on the taste. But - it's a great alternative.

Just slightly nuttier taste than cream of wheat, but with more fiber and protein. It’s also doesn’t cook up quite as smooth as cream of wheat, but I like the little bit of additional texture. My favorite is actually to combine half cream of barley and half cream of wheat.

This is a good change of pace for cooked cereal. I like the variety it affords. It's a little pricey but nice to have another breakfast option.
