Mission: The alaska scottish club was established to promote the scottish culture, heritage and teachings to the people of alaska. This purpose is achieved through events, workshops, concerts, and other social gatherings in alaska throughout the calendar year.

Programs: The organization hosted the alaskan scottish highland games. The games brought in 6 professional world athletes from three countries. The games hosted over 25 local amateur athletes from all over alaska. It included scottish pipers and drummers from all over the state of alaska and from canada. The highland games is the largest one day event in the state of alaska that brought in an estimated 11,000 people. It achieves the club mission in spreding the scottish culture to alaska and to the local community by bringing vendors, athletes, dancers, m pipers, drummers and musicians together in one place to celebrate and pass tradition along to future generations.

the annual robert burns dinner was held in january. 68 members and families attended the event to celebrate the life of famous scottish poes robert burns. This event promotes scottish music, poetry, food and culture. It was a great success in reaching a greater audience. ,

saint andrews night was hosted in november with an attendance of 84 people. St andrew is the patron saint of scotland. This is the pre-holiday cultural celebration and recognition of all the volunteers and the club participation throughout the year. St andrews night focuses on the feast day of st andrew and national scottish holiday, traditional dances and music with ceilidh bands are part of the celebration. This celebration was brough back with success in 2017 by the scottish club with dances and a local ceilidh band.
