Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Mission to relieve the suffering that far too many animals are forced to endure, our mission is to provide a no-kill sanctuary for abandoned and abused domestic animals where love for the soul and medical care for the body will be provided to all who enter our grounds. Alchemy acres provides adequate housing, care, exercise, and enrichment - often individualized based on the animals' needs. We also provide all of the animals' medical work, initial shots, worming and care, monthly preventions (flea and heartworm), yearly vaccines, and routine check-ups and exams as well as care for specific medical conditions. Alchemy acres is a place where animals may reside their entire lives if need be.

Programs: Adoption and animal care services: loving, safe homes are sought out for our residents and any animal that is deemed unadoptable is allowed to live out its natural life at the sanctuary. Animals in need of physical and psychological care receive professional veterinary services; including but not limited to vaccines, psychological care, spaying and neutering, etc. Toward this goal many services and food items are donated. During 2014 we received approximately 32,448 volunteer hours from local veterinarians and the community at large. Some of the services provided by the community volunteers include dish- washing, dog bathing, animal socialization, animal exercise, clean-up duty and fundraising. In addition, approximately 8 tons of dog and puppy food, 4 tons of cat litter and 4.3 tons of cat food were received as donations during 2014.The approximate value of the donated goods is 26,060.Alchemy acres cares for over 300 dogs per year (housing 90 at a time), over 200 cats per year (housing 70 at a time), in addition to over 200 wildlife intakes and releases per year and other various animals.

education: we provide education about and funds for spay and neuter programs. We attempt to raise awareness about the importance of general pet care, vaccinations and nutrition. We provide education to those we interact with in an attempt to prevent animal cruelty.
