I'm 53 and my son (11) wanted to learn to snowboard. Well, 3 years ago I had a total hip replacement but my surgeon said as long as I take it easy he'd clear me. I bought these and fell on my A$$ a couple times throughout the season. Not only are they comfortable but they cushion a hillside butt plant and keep my shiny new titanium warm on the lift going up. I'm happy with my purchase

I'm 63. Decided to try out roller skating. So I purchased new skates...I put all my protective pads on. Laced up my skates. Stepped onto my porch, then one step down to my walkway.And my feet immediately went out from under me.I landed, hard, on my tailbone, My Apple watch recorded a fall and I had to tell it I was okay.Because I was okay. Mostly.Six days later, my tailbone and the muscles around it are still sore. But I'm getting around instead of recovering from surgery.So glad I was wearing these pads.

I crawl under houses and they protect my by legs and my behind, for me the are perfect. I know they are not meant for that but I couldn't find something that I can use to work on crawl spaces

I'm afraid it's too soft as there is no hard shield in the butt area but I have not tried it yet. Hope this protect me when needed

Fell on my ass snowboarding and didn't even feel it. Success

They actually are padded at point of hip and coccyx as well - the boost in confidence is real. Another pr. missed those. A friend - multiple Iron Man finisher - took the dreaded low speed fall on bike - shattered pelvis. Am not saying these prevent - but go long way to buffer such a fall.Good luck, Tom

I don't go skate without this item anymore feel very safe

It protected me when I fell right on my lower back but I did not feel super comfortable while wearing it.

These are relatively low profile and provide good padding where you need it.

First time I did snowboard I got so hurt for days hahsha. W this shorts is NO PAIN , I fall sometimes and I didn't felt anything

Used for snowboarding....very effective at preventing repeat injuries. Last time i went i almost broke my tailbone but this time no bruises and i fell quite a few times

Product seemed like a good idea but I haven't fallen on my backside so I haven't used it yet. I'll likely recommend it if I do.

I've been snowboarding for 30 years but sometimes you take huge falls. A lot of pros I know wear various pads, these aren't just for beginners, as some reviews suggest.I was snowboarding before I got these and I was racing down an open area of the the mountain and hit an ice patch. I have a helmet, that saved my head. But, my tailbone got thrashed. I could barely walk for two weeks. That's when I got these... just in case.Cut to today. I was snowboarding, it was dicey Spring conditions but I thought it was a safe area to hit the gas again but I hit another patch of ice and my board went skidding. I definitely concussed myself, couldn't feel my right arm for a while... but my tailbone was perfect. Nothing wrong whatsoever. If I didn't have these on, it would have been a rough, rough day, most likely in the hospital.I didn't mean to test these... but I did, and they're great.The only weird thing is that the padding in the back come down and 'under' you so it's like a little seat almost. But hey, obviously it works.

These definitely helped me feel more confident while learning, and deterred me from landing with my hands out (which was my focus). And they stayed in place! Order your base layer size.

Fits true to size, comfortable and well constructed for the $$. I've yet to actually take a spill with them but am pretty confident that it'll do what it's intended for.

I recently started rollerblading at the age of 40, and I want to keep all of my body parts unbroken. This crash pants is lightweight and easily glides on my yoga pants. It's not too breathable so I sweat a lot under it, but the protection is worth it.The product instruction says to wash by hand in cold water, but I put it in a laundry mesh bag and machine-wash in tap cold water, on the gentlest cycle (TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, though!), and hang dry.

Rookie snowboarder and falling on the bum in the snow starts to hurt. With these padded shorts it def helped at the end of the day. For great and def do the job.!
