I've been snowboarding for 30 years but sometimes you take huge falls. A lot of pros I know wear various pads, these aren't just for beginners, as some reviews suggest.I was snowboarding before I got these and I was racing down an open area of the the mountain and hit an ice patch. I have a helmet, that saved my head. But, my tailbone got thrashed. I could barely walk for two weeks. That's when I got these... just in case.Cut to today. I was snowboarding, it was dicey Spring conditions but I thought it was a safe area to hit the gas again but I hit another patch of ice and my board went skidding. I definitely concussed myself, couldn't feel my right arm for a while... but my tailbone was perfect. Nothing wrong whatsoever. If I didn't have these on, it would have been a rough, rough day, most likely in the hospital.I didn't mean to test these... but I did, and they're great. The only weird thing is that the padding in the back come down and 'under' you so it's like a little seat almost. But hey, obviously it works.
