Causes: Education

Mission: To conduct and support non-partisan research, education, and informational activities, to increase public awareness on issues related to primary and secondary public school education.

Results: The Alliance focuses on engaging all education stakeholders, including parents and caregivers, educators and community members, to ensure our students receive a high quality, equitable, relevant education and graduate from high school prepared for their next stage of life. In order to accomplish this goal, we engage in four areas of programming:ENGAGING with families and community members to help them understand the public school system and how to support and advocate for students to access the many supports available to them. CHAMPIONING meaningful engagement for families, community and school and district leadership in the process of supporting traditionally under-performing schools in order to address the root causes and sustainable change that support improved student learning and stronger communities. DEVELOPING student leadership at the high school level to promote student voice in school and district policy, improve school culture, raise high school graduation rates, and close the Achievement Gap by ensuring all students get the tools needed to succeed. ADVOCATING- at the district, state and national level for equitable and adequate public education funding and researched based, student centered education policy.

Target demographics: support families, students and educators obtain the skills and information necessary to ensure success for public schools and the students that attend them.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 1843 families, 52 schools, 215 student leaders
