Mission: The university of rhode island alumni association informs and engages current and future alumni as committed partners of the university, its missions and traditions.
Programs: The alumni association promotes the university's presence, maintains contact with alumni and students, and encourages awareness of the university's role in community and the goals of higher education. It aims to service all alumni and students globally by:1.Awarding unrestricted scholarships to students2.Providing grants to faculty and university departments3.Providing career networking and development to students and alumni4.Providing alumni featured speaking events throughout the country5.Providing enriching events through affinity and regional chapters throughout the world6.Promoting governmental relations in support of the institutional agenda through the legislative council7.Providing current alumni and other stakeholders with compelling articles on university innovation, research and global outreach through alumni magazine. This vehicle also serves as a tool to provide information about upcoming alumni and uri events throughout the world.
the mission of the department of athletics is to provide experiences that are consistent with the mission of the university and the ncaa division i philosophy. The department provides opportunities for students and the larger community that encourages the pursuit of lifetime activities, commitment, teamwork, competitive success, the development of personal character, and leadership skills. We maintain an environment that values integrity, diversity, gender equity, high academic achievement, and sound fiscal management. Athletics strives to provide high quality facilities and programs that cultivate an exciting environment for the university and the community.
the alumni association's dues paying membership program provides support for alumni and student programming as well as offering meaningful engagement opportunities for alumni through exclusive benefits, discounts and opportunities for career networking. The program also builds pride and awareness for the alumni association with both alumni and students.
