Mission: To support individuals, families, and professionals impacted by alzheimer's disease and other dementias through information, education, consultation, and advocacy; and to promote the advancement of research to better diagnose, treat & eliminate alzheimer's disease.

Programs: Dementia care management - the overall goal is to support persons with dementia and their family members or caregivers, and provide training and case consultation to the aging service professionals. Services include education, consultations, and linkage to needed resources. Care consultations, plans for care and facility staff training associated with mendota diversion initiative are also included in this category. Over 6,800 people served annually in dane co.

alzheimer family & caregiver support program (afcsp) - the goal is to enable clients and, when appropriate, clients' families to gain access to afcsp and receive a full range of appropriate services in a planned, coordinated, efficient, and effective manner. Services include assessment, consultation, case planning, monitoring and review, advocacy and referral. A waiting list is maintained and these families are referred to other helpful services in the interim. Over 572 people have received afscp services through the alliance since 2006.

in the past year over 12,052 people have been helped by: 1)presenting 329 education programs attended by 8,541 people, from the abc's of alzheimer's & dementia to crossing bridges, the alliance's exceptional program for people just diagnosed with memory impairment and their caregivers; 2) responding to 1,477 helpline calls and 534 requests for in-person care consultations with families; 3) providing 175 support group meetings attended by over 1,500 people; and by 4) maintaining three outreach specialists serving rural communities so people struggling with alzheimer's and other dementia don't always have to travel to madison or milwaukee to receive help.
