Mission: The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) supports cancer research, education, and early detection, emphasizing the unique resources of Italy and the United States, recognizing world-class scientific excellence in medicine, and serving the economically disadvantaged and medically underserved in New York City through cancer screening, outreach, and education.

Results: The International Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship Program provides financial support for the post-doctoral research of promising young scientists who pursue research and advanced training in collaboration with mentors at major cancer centers in the United States and Italy. The Program has funded 402 post-doctoral research fellowships since its inception. The No-Cost, Mobile Breast Cancer Screening Program serves the five boroughs of New York City, providing no-cost breast cancer screening services to economically disadvantaged and medically underserved women. During the last 26 years, AICF has provided screening services for over 85,000 women. The Prize for Scientific Excellence in Medicine recognizes scientific researchers who have substantially improved the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors by bringing what they have learned in the laboratory into the clinical setting. These scientists are recognized for groundbreaking discoveries in the fields of cancer biology, prevention, diagnosis, and/or treatment.
