I used to piggyback two wires at a starter solenoid to add a relay and manual button. And to splice 2 other wires together without cutting the OEM harness. Made it easy. I'm not sure the metal used, or the plating resistance to corrosion, but they seem thick enough and work so far

I recently had to do some electrical work on my 79 Ford F-150. I needed various connectors. This connector is very sturdy and did the job I needed. The price for five was much higher that I would normally pay. I needed them ASAP to get my truck back on the road. I try to stay away from electrical tape. So I used these and added heat shrink tubing to prevent any electrical issues down the road.
