Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: The mission of AniMeals is to save the hungry, the helpless, the lost, the little ones just struggling to survive; to house and feed as many animals as possible; to ease the suffering of the weak and unloved; to build a no-kill community and to reach the achievement of a no-kill nation.

Results: AniMeals is a 501(c) (3) and exists as an Animal Food Bank and Adoption Center. Since 2003, AniMeals has provided over 900 tons of pet food to furry members of families in-crisis, pets of low-income seniors, homebound or disabled individuals, other shelters/rescues, community cat caregivers, and people who aid in re-homing animals that have been abandoned or surrendered. We are thankful to work in our community to help thousands of people each year and save/advocate for the lives of the most vulnerable animals. AniMeals is honored to have been chosen as Missoula's #1 nonprofit organization in 2020,2021 and 2022.

Target demographics: AniMeals serves thousands of people each year, assists older adults with their pets, feeds hungry animals, serves home-bound or disabled individuals, helps families in-crisis, and advocates for civilized treatment of animals.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 100's of low-income and under-served individuals with pets, 100's of starving and abandoned animals, people in crisis, community cats, and other shelters/rescues in Western Montana.

Geographic areas served: We primarily serve Western Montana, and our food bank reaches statewide and has sent food in the past as far as Washington, Idaho, North Dakota, and Colorado. Our animal shelter is located in Missoula, Montana.

Programs: Our Animal Food Bank provides food and supplies to other shelters and rescues, furry members of families-in-crisis, in-need pets of the homebound and disabled, community cat caregivers, foster caregivers, and help for people who aid in re-homing animals that have been abandoned or surrendered. Our Adoption Center matches animals with loving forever homes and provides care for the most vulnerable. By keeping these programs working in unison we are able to support the community, work towards a kinder society, and continually educate the public in responsible pet ownership. Together with hundreds of volunteers, and in collaboration with local shelters, businesses and foundations, we have saved the lives of over 5,700 cats that had run out of options.
