Mission: Animal Welfare Society, Inc. , is an independent, 501c3 non-profit, non-destroy organization founded in 1965 that provides food, shelter and veterinary care to homeless and abandoned dogs and cats while working to place them in responsible and caring homes. AWS provides rescue services to animals from Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Milford, Roxbury, Washington, as well as from high-kill shelters outside our area.

Results: In 2016 we cared for a total of 583 cats and dogs and successfully found adoptive homes for 462.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 462 cats and dogs find new responsible homes

Geographic areas served: in the towns of Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Milford, Roxbury and Washington CT with local animal control

Programs: food, shelter, veterinary care and adoption services for the animals, as well as provide low-cost spay/neuter programs and senior companion animal discounts.
