Mission: The Crew builds one home each year for an Appalachian family without the financial means to afford adequate housing. Our work is located in economically depressed McCreary County, KY. For the last nineteen years, the Crew has worked with the Good Shepherd Mission of Whitley City, KY, who selects a family to receive the new home. Currently, the Good Shepherd Mission has a waiting list over twenty fmailies. In June 2005, the Crew built a home for the Tom and Beverly Renfro Family who was living in a run-down trailer with very unhealthly living conditions. We also built a 2-bedroom addition for the George and Brenda Renfro Family. Although new home is our prime objective, more important benefits include setting an example of helping others and trying to heal a family. The Applachian Construction Crew is a separate IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation but has been associated with the Offfutt AFB Chapel since 1988.
