I've purchased other of the API line of test kits, this is a fairly simple one compared to some of the others. Rinse and fill the testtube to the line, add the drops and cap, invert several times and read by comparing to the chart. Drawback is the test tube is thin glass, and tippy prone despite having a flat bottom, and that style of cap doesn't always want to fit fluid tight. Though the ease of performing this test is very nice.

For magnesium, calc, dkh I use higher end kits. For ph though, this kit works fine. I've tested it with a sample that I knew the ph of, and it was dead on. I trust it to work. as with any test kit just don't let it sit too long.

Bought to use for my African cichlid tank since cichlids require high pH (8.0-8.5). Other pH tests top out at 7.8 or so, so African keepers need one that handles the higher pH. Works fast and easy to read. Just what I needed.

reads right on the dot after testing it against more expensive brand saltwater aquarium water tests :-) I have used this brand for 5 years with consistent results :-)

Bought this test kit to compliment the "Master" test kit from API i purchased. Needed to fine tune my PH numbers, this works great!

This PH test works great. I tested my water with this and a Digital PH test and both were right on the dot.The test is SUPER simple, you add 5 drops to 5ml of water, you then invert the tube a couple of times and then you hold it up to a color chart and your DONE. So easy!
