I use this feature in the spring, summer and fall. Allows me to clean the filter by turned in the handle. That feature is easier that turning the cleaning handle on the pressure filter. I can also redirect water back into the pond via hose connection and run my water fall. Great device and I recommend it for some interesting options to the pond water flow.

Solid, well made, seems pro, better than big box retail. Just installed it, good parts, expect it to last underwater.

Used it as a quick means of diverting water in a Duck pond system. So far, so good..
