Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: The Arabian Rescue Mission is dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of horses in need, focusing on the Arabian and Arab crosses. Our primary goal is to facilitate their gentle release, prior to the necessity of seizure. Our secondary goal is the education of those handling rescue and rehabilitation, first responders at time of seizure and owners, where surrender may be iminent. We are charged with the task of discreetly negotiating the release of animals in decline, initiating programs to help owners facing life challenges with their commitment and providing the tools necessary for a safe and legal seizure, where necessary.

Results: In 17 years we have helped over 2000 horses out of bad situations or just into new homes. Our new gelding assistance program has helped 25 stallions become geldings. Our euthanasia assistance program has helped 4 horses cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Our owner assistance program has helped one owner keep her horses so far. All our assistance programs are on an "as funds are available" basis.

Target demographics: Horses in need, in situations where neglect and abuse are present or imminent due to circumstances beyond an owner's control, in threat of shipping to slaughter or otherwise in harm's way.

Geographic areas served: Nationwide

Programs: Rescue, Rehabilitation & Re-Homing and we are successful in all 3 areas.
