The outlet boxes solved the problem of how to fit the lights in a tight space. I was not aware that this product existed. I just happened to find it online. I ordered two and they arrived within days. They worked perfectly!

This box worked great to install a light where no box had been installed previously. The light that was taken down just had a wire coming out of a hole in the drywall. The space needed for this box was taken up by a regular depth electric box and the vent pipe for the sinks that the plumber decided to run straight up in the center, blocking the option to install a deeper box to center the light. I traced the box and cut the drywall to match. This shallow box comes with 1/2 and 5/8 inch drywall thickness adapters, a cord grip insert to hold the wire in place and the screws you will need. The clips that hold the box in place did seem to bend out slightly as it was tightened into place and felt like they could break if tightened too much, but the box was firmly in place and attached well. It seems strong enough to hold up the 3 bulb vanity light we installed. I don't think I would use it for a really heavy light or one that hangs from the ceiling. The one thing you may need is shorter screws for your light attachment hardware as the box is shallow. I have included a picture of the instructions and some install steps to help visualize how this box installs.

Liked it a lot. Worked out as well as I hoped. Made sure the vanity light was just 4 pounds as indicated in the box.

Tight squeeze in a bathroom with pipes directly behind, really liked this system and it grabs the drywall well for a solid hold

The wiring to our outdoor porch lamp is old and was fed through the old original gas line from back when the house had gas lamps. Because of the fixture inside the wall we needed a shallow box for the new wiring. This worked perfectly! So happy I have a light again!

Needed to center vanity light over sink and mirror in bathroom remodel. The venting for the drain was centered as well of course and a normal light box would not fit! The light I was installing had some weight to it and this box was strong enough and so easy to install. Could not be happier with it.

It works! It was just what I needed. It is expensive. It could be sold a lot cheaper, but I only needed one.

I wanted a shallow box because there is some plumbing behind this fixture and didn't want to interfere. However this box gave me the flexibility to install over a stud, something I wouldn't have considered prior. Worked out well. Just need to make sure the (included) cable clamp is oriented away from the stud face, in order to sit flat, as it protrudes from the back slightly. Little tight, need to arrange wires carefully, and really need to leverage the fixture back for wire space, but this is expected. Worked well.

It seems whoever did the wiring and plumbing for my house liked aligning drains with where electrical conn boxes needed to go, and with very little room. I have used these in both bathrooms since the contractors apparently liked to mount the conn box to the drain with a screw. That's why this product exists.

This little devices saved me from a ton of work! There was a pipe directly behind where the light fixture needed to be mounted, so a regular box wouldn't fit. I had maybe 1 max of depth to play with as you can see in pictures. This box anchored itself to the sheetrock and allowed me to install the fixture and stay within electrical code. Highly recommend!

As everyone else on here, I had a pipe exactly where I needed the box. While the tabs were mildly annoying to get snug, this 100 saved the day!!!

5/8” wings were not included as per the enclosed instructions/Bill of Material. One of the wing receptacles was stripped. Would not recommend.

Strong, rigid plastic. Comes with screws and wire grommet. Easy to install, though you need a little room in the wall to slide it in on an angle and then pull against the wall.Caution: the two tabs that clamp against the finished side of the wall may interfere with your fixture. The outer edges of the tabs are almost 4-1/2” across.

I got this to hang a sconce on the wall where a cast iron vent pipe was in exactly the wrong place. If you follow the instructions exactly, you'll have no problem getting this to fit through the 4 hole that you cut in the drywall; the two flat edges allow it to slip inside a 4 round hole, and with a little tilting and finagling, you will be able to get things rotated where you need them to be without having to cut any extra for the ears. One thing that could be a little better is having slightly longer screws for the outer ears. Once 5/8 drywall has texture on it, it can be a little thicker than 5/8, and then it's extremely tight with the short screws the box comes with. I was a little afraid of breaking the ears. But in the end, it worked out. It's also quite expensive for what it is; ordinary old-work round boxes typically cost just a buck or two at a home improvement store. Even as a specialty item, a price point closer to $5 would make more sense for this, but if you need one, you need one.
