Mission: To develop, heal and grow community through experiential learning and interactive instruction for the advancement of diverse learners. We aim to promote access and equality by assisting all people to be inspired and empowered by using discarded, unwanted, and excess items as learning tools; creating generations to come to be more environmentally and socially conscious. Our philosophy is that art and music is the foundation to teaching math, science, reading, writing and sociology. Creativity belongs in the same category as preventive healthcare, diet and exercise, and people who are robbed of the ability to create art because of economic hardship live a life of the poorest quality.

Results: Thousands of schools, nonprofits and the people that they serve have received over a million dollars in resources over the last six years due to the work of Art of Recycle’s team of volunteers and staff. Art of Recycle’s staff and volunteers are made up of a diversity of people of all ages who have come together to help heal and grow community through our community educational center. Our large facility in Ephrata is nearly 18000 SF and has two large activity rooms where people of all ages can craft for free. AoR hosts free and low-cost activities for the public, employs individuals with diverse learning needs, and offers job training for children 12 and over. Our activities help to enhance math and reading skills along with social skills. Our team has educated and inspired thousands of children, adults with disabilities and seniors who have participated in our art and skills training programs. In the course of six years, our organization has successfully trained and hired over a dozen diverse learners who were having difficulty learning the skills to find and keep a job. AoR has a 2500SF free teacher and non-profit resource center that is available to teachers and activity directors. This resource center was developed to help other educational programs within our communities to continue to serve children, seniors, and individuals with special needs. Free resources means better programs and an earlier start on education.
