I added 1 beef boullion cube for each cup of water used with rice and the flavor was wonderful. I was hesistant of trying black rice, just looked creepy after eating white rice all my life. After tasting it, I will never go back to white rice, especially given all the health benefits. It has the texture of wild rice, which I love. Note: Plan on flossing and brushing immediately after eating, I had particles between my teeth and on the surface. Good thing I checked!!!

I love this brand due to it not being too dry or hard, just similar to white rice. Very healthy option for weight watch and diabetic patient. I would sometime mix in a little bit of white rice when cooking if you miss the taste of white rice.

Excellent product. It was packed so tightly and carefully that none of the grains slipped out at all. It was easy to cook and the grains absorb flavors and sauces quickly. It's an excellent starch, what with all the vitamins and minerals they contain. I will buy this again and again for sure.

For 5 pounds for 20 dollars that's crazy. But I think asian market like Hmart is 10 dollars for 5 pounds. I won't buy this again online.lol. I don't like cooking it pure I mixed it with jasmine white rice. So I guess still not healthy lol

I like to make my own mix. I mixed half and half with a white long grain. It was a deep purple when cooked. The white rice took on the same color so it did not look like a mix. It was a lovely texture and a slightly nutty flavor.

I wanted a solid quality black rice to be part of my diet program. This was a large quantity of good quality black rice. The flavor is good on its own and it works well in my blend of rice (this black rice and the red rice from the same company), quinoa, hemp hearts, and chia seed. I use this rice three ways. The first is as part of the blend noted above. The second is just as rice on its own. The third is in a rice porridge made from yogurt, this rice (cooked), and whey protein blended in a vitamix. In all of these applications this rice works well. The flavor on its own is nice.
