Operation School Bell® provides the opportunity for identified low-income students (TK-12) to select new school clothing at a tax free value of $125 at local department stores within the defined service areas of Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Lake Elsinore and Romoland school districts. Operation School Bell clothed 1,110 students from the Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Romoland and Lake Elsinore School Districts at Kohl's in Murrieta, Menifee and Temecula.

Save Our Students (SOS) provides duffle bags filled with items for immediate hygiene needs and a change of clothing distributed to Head Start, State Preschool and Special Education Preschool classrooms within our service area.

Chapters for Children is a partnership with six other local Assistance League Chapters who combine resources and provide a “Thank you” weekend for students of military families at Camp Pendleton. Our Chapter provides boys’ jeans as our contribution. During August 2021, gift cards were given to the 239 boys who attended the event.

Operation Bear Hug provides cuddly bears to children who are sick, traumatized or injured who are taken to emergency rooms at local hospitals. Each child receives a cuddly teddy bear.

Operation Scholarships awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in our local districts. This program also awards grants to teachers which enables them to provide enrichment activities for their students. June 2021,24-$1,000 scholarships were awarded to high school seniors. In December, $15,500 teacher grants were awarded to 40 Certificated staff, teachers, counselors, and learning specialists within the Menifee, Temecula, and Romoland School Districts. The grants were for a maximum of $500, but some applicants asked for less.

Operation Foster/Homeless Youth works with local Foster Family Agencies as well as school districts to provide basic essentials of clothing and supplies for children entering the foster care system. The program offers support to foster and homeless high school seniors as well as foster youth who are transitioning out of the system. Through the Christmas Tree program, 505 children were given Christmas gifts.

Operation Nonprofit Partnerships works with other community nonprofit organizations to assist in providing needed services to the community. Goods and services are provided to support the work of organizations that are not covered by Assistance League. This program oversees the free use of our Chapter meeting room by other 501(c)(3) organizations.

Target demographics: Assistance League philanthropic programs benefit at risk children, individuals and families.

Direct beneficiaries per year: During our fiscal year 2020/2021, all philanthropic programs combined provided service and assistance to 18,135 recipients.

Geographic areas served: Assistance League serves the communities of Southwest Riverside County - Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake and Romoland.

This program provides new school clothing to low income military families with dependent school children stationed at Camp Pendleton;

Partnership service needs are defined as the provision of goods and services that the chapter determines meet a need in the community and that Assistance League has no philanthropic program in place to meet these needs.
