My husband works in a shop where all the other mechanics use Snap-on. This beats all the other guns used. Doesn't hurt your hand, has incredible racking power, and is cheaper than Snap-on.

I have used this almost daily now never thought of leaving a review until it accidentally got ran over. I went to test it after and it still works great. One thing I noticed is that if you use extensions you will lose some torque. So if a lug nut is being stubborn just use a socket. But this applies to all impact guns.

It worked perfectly for what I bought it for. A Honda Crankbolt. This coupled with a 19mm hammer socket is amazing. One note, I'm an out the box, don't read instructions. It is a 3/8 NPT and not a 1/4. There is an adapter in the box though, I was confused when I first went to use it, user error. I love Astro products.

I'm happy with this one, powerful, removed the nut which was failed to loose by several other impact wrench. The only complaint is the forward/reverse switch, bad design, but it works...

Hell of a impact for the money. My only grippe is what others said about the trigger feels like almost a 2 stage and is a little weird

I like that at times Thor has an identity crisis and thinks it a 3/4 impact.. actually that's the case most of the time. I have oiled it every morning and that's it. It's dirty, has battle scars, been put through it all and it keeps going. I'm a heavy truck mechanic in the rust belt. It cracks 1-1/2 inch mack spring pin bolts no problem. That said the honey moon is over and I've noticed things. You can over oil this impact. It stalls if you do when tightening bolts. Also the selector switch sticks. If you lightly press the trigger it frees up. I contacted customer support. The rep said they would send me an updated one. I haven't seen it. It's been 2 months. Sometimes when using the impact the direction switch can be bumpped in the opposite direction. Besides that it holds its own in power, but it needs to be refined. I'd be really excited to either see a dial or rearward buttons for the selector/ direction switch.

It's not as strong as my matco 1600 ftlb gun but it does well especially for under 200 bucks

I waited for the hoopla to lighten up when it 1st came out and got more than a fair deal. After a couple weeks of use it's torque hasn't felled me yet. Always oil your air tools AFTER use and they'll do what they should when you pick them up.

This thing is an absolute beast. It's totally overkill for most automotive applications, so I don't understand the reviews saying it's too chunky. A smaller pneumatic or cordless impact will handle most automotive stuff with ease - even the little onyx gun will remove 1 ton truck lug nuts easily. This gun is in its element on the really tough automotive jobs, trucks, heavy equipment and machinery. The only I've had is the trigger is sticky out of the box, but it gets better with use. I still give it 5 stars because it's the most insane value of anything out there.

I've only used it a couple times because it's not what it's cracked up to be. It's also too fat to fit most places I want to use it.TTC talks about length as if longer is worse but I'll take a thinner nose over this pug.

This will be my 2nd ONYX impact wrench by Astro. I purchased the THOR to replace my Snap on 1/2 drive that gave out and can't be repaired as parts and repairs are no longer available. Hoping these last at least 10 more years

I use it everyday at work mostly to remove tires but it is light weight, very quiet and has adjustable torque settings. Would highly recommend.

It was kinda lackluster, then I removed the muffler and it came to life. Great bang for your buck. Two small complaints, the trigger. I've read reviews that the trigger will get better over time. Really minor complaint, it doesn't come with a sticker. Most mechanics want stickers to put on their tool boxes. I'm one of them lol. It would get 5 stars if not for the trigger.

took off 150lb lugs like they were nothing. Then took off 350lb strut bolt (had to use the 2nd setting). Light weight, and compact. Price is good too. Not cheap (but the tool is not cheaply made either), but not overpriced like soooooo many others.

Just read the first line of the warning on the box. I just picked this up after my cordless high torque took a walk and left my garage door kicked in. Not sure why it was so angry and took a few of his buddies with him. Traitors. Anyway...i threw a fitting in this guy and zipped some lugnuts off. I think it took literally one ugga dugga a piece. I had to retorque them to be sure i actually remembered to torque them when i last put them on. I decided to tackle the balljoints and wheel bearings i've been putting off since my cordless went out for milk. I first used it with my OEM Tools wheel hub and bearing service set. It yanked the hub off in record time. It pressed the bearing out with very little effort. Probably half the time my old HF gun could do it in. Next, i threw it at the old balljoint press. This gun has so much power, it wont warn you when it's about to destroy stuff. It bent my balljoint press and i didnt notice it at first because the gun wasnt struggling at all to maim my tool. After i put my press in a press to straighten it back out, i threw some heat on that stubborn balljoint. I was hoping not to bend my balljoint press again with the gun, so i turned it down to 2. It still had plenty of power to press the balljoint out. Color me impressed. It's way lighter than a cordless high torque. I'm now in no rush to replace that impact with this badboy around.
