The only advantage is that the sound is goos. The disadvantages: 1. The earpads are small and hearting the ears 2. The cable is so long and clumsy If you want to buy earphones for listen to music, this is not a good choice for buying them.

These are amazing. Period. I had the Razer Man O War Headset before these and the audio techs just have much much clearer sound. Yes I am aware that they are for two different purposes and the Audio techs does not have a mic. These are comfortable and they are fit really well. Just dont expect to hear anyone else if these are on with music. The cable is a bit long but I just looped the wire a bit and then used the packaging wire to keep in place and long cable is not much of an issue anymore.

These are fantastic quality with great highs and lows and a very comfortable design. I bought these headphones three years ago and I've put them through absolute hell. They have an extra long cord that is probably appealing to some people, but just got snagged on the arms of my desk chair, causing the headphones to be repeatedly flung to the floor. Despite this, nothing ever broke, everything is still as adjustable and comfortable as the day I bought them. I just moved to a wireless gaming headset, but these things will probably definitely outlive most other electronics I have.

I got this for music enjoyment and some sound recording/mixing with GarageBand. It works well for both. I'm amazed at the depth of sound I hear on my playlist. And it allows me to mix music in GarageBand very well, too. They're comfortable to wear and have a long cord (very long). So, I could do stuff recording and not have to be tied to the computer.

I bought these headphones back in 2016. I'd rank the audio quality as good to excellent. The bass was tight and deep without sounding artificially boomy or muddy. The mid-range was rich and well-defined, with vocals coming through clearly. The highs sparkled without sounding harsh or sibilant. I listen to a lot of acoustic jazz and classical, and these headphones made the experience enjoyable. So why the one star rating? These headphones have a fatal design flaw that will eventually render one or both drivers inoperable if the earcups are collapsed for storage. When the earcups are folded up into the headband, the cords leading to the drivers are bent at an extremely sharp angle at the elbow. There is no slack in the cords to accommodate the flexing, and over time, with repeated collapsing and extending, they eventually fracture. The right driver of my unit failed first when its cord broke at the elbow; the cord leading to the left driver was starting to give, but had not yet completely separated. Audio Technica's two year warranty was useless as the headphones failed just outside the two year window, and they wanted me to pay for any costs associated with repairing them. I didn't think it was worth paying for the repair as the cords would eventually fracture again due to the inherent design flaw. I just tossed the unit into the trash. A shame, as they sounded good when they worked.

I was surprised to find a long cord with an RCA plug. This makes it easy to plug into my stereo jack. Moreover, by unscrewing the RCA plug I found a 3.5 mm plug which is perfect for my computer. The sound is very good, and the phones are wide enough to shut out noise. The headphones overall appear to be very solid. The correct impedance is 47 ohms.

Terrible for AT brand. As a long time DJ, I rely on headphones for a crisp mix and the output from a good set of headphones. Had a cheap pair of Sony as replacements before I purchased these and have to say the Sonys are miles ahead. Definitely not for DJing

To my standards in sounds from a portable headphone- I have to say it delivers crisp sounds, good bass, and the sounds surrounds your head- one feels that one is front of the studio that recorded the songs- also the singer's voice sounds very clear. If one has wasted a lot of money and energy in having a great collection of music and/or in a great stereo system, why not to get a very good set of headphones like these ones.

I use these headphones everyday for field recording and I haven't had an issue. If you have the money and the desire I recommend getting the 50s or the 70s, but if you want to start small, this is your best quality/value. The sound is crisp and the decibel range is pretty impressive. When I use these to listen to music I can always hear things that have been blown out or distorted by other headphones. I honestly prefer these to my Beats Studios. The bass drivers aren't overpowered like many other headphones, so you always get true sound, as opposed to bass-enhanced sound. In my editing office (repurposed walk-in closet) I use a pair of the 70s. However I always use a pair of 30s for shooting. I have used these with a 4-source Zoom field recorder, GH4, GH5 and DVX200. They worked terrific with each.

The bass is really low and these headphones are uncomfortable. Follow my advice do not buy these headphones, and do not believe the persons that gave them five stars.

Great headphones! I use them for music production as well as monitoring audio for video editing. These have a fantastic response range. The bass seems a little heavy but other than that, I would recommend them to anyone looking for affordable monitor headphones. The first pair I received had a vibration in the left ear piece that was annoying so I had to have them exchanged, however I got my replacements so quickly I can't even deduct a star. Highly recommended!

For everyday use, the ATH-M30x is a wonderful headset. For under $100, they produce clean, balanced sound. I've used these headphones exclusively for the last 4 years and I recently re-bought them so I could keep a pair at work and at home without having to carry them around.

Okay sound quality. Bass is adequate and treble is fine, volume gets very loud also. Long listening sessions will KILL your ears. These ear cups, although are 34;over the ear34;, lay very close to the ear itself and press down very hard. Space between the cushion and the driver is pretty poor. If you are looking for a budget set of headphones they are good for the price but just keep the other factors in mind
