Son is 12 very slim and long legs he wears a 14 slim. I bought Med. These were too big in the waist but fit in length. We always have a hard time getting athletic pants for him. We kept them because he mostly just wears them over his basketball shorts but he does not like them.

A lot thicker than I thought they would be but that's ok, my son is ALWAYS cold! He loves them!
