Product Description
Full flavored round, brown, flat and extremely versatile. An excellent extender and substitute for meat. A great base for sloppy joes, lentil loaves, burgers, chili, casseroles, soups and salads. The Lentil's high protein content is said to be more easily digested than that of larger beans. High in iron.
Product of Washington and Idaho.
Product meets or exceeds USDA guidelines. Although the most modern equipment and standards are used when cleaning, processing, and packing this product, the contents of this bag are a natural product grown in the earth. It is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Please sort and rinse thoroughly before cooking.
Cooks quickly with no need for presoaking. Lentils are the quickest cooking legume.

Bring the water to a rapid boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to maintain a very gentle simmer. You should only see a few small bubbles and some slight movement in the lentils. Cook the lentils uncovered, for 20 to 30 minutes.
