I needed something with a lid to store cat litter waste after my cat had a treatment done. I have to keep it for 6 weeks before I can put it in the trash. The lid was easy to secure with a rubber mallet. They habe done well outside and The rain hasn't gotten in the buckets. Would recommend.

I purchased these for short-term dry goods storage as well as using them for container gardening. Buckets themselves are sturdy enough and the lids are gasketed and create a decent seal. I buy beans, rice, flour, etc. in bulk and store the excess in the buckets. These could easily be used for long-term storage using sealed Mylar bags as a liner along with O2 absorbers.

Food Grade is important! Square would be better, easier to stack and would take less room. My Corelle glass dinner plate nicely inside to hold food down when pickling or fermenting food. Good for storing food long term and keeping critters out of flour!

Purchasing the 5-gallon pails and lids was on my bucket list for a while. These are excellent for long-term storage. Each lid has a rubber seal to protect the contents from various damaging elements.

U can't beat having these quality of buckets for cost. It's hard to put the top on but once it's on it's on and is not coming off.
