Food Grade is important! Square would be better, easier to stack and would take less room. My Corelle glass dinner plate nicely inside to hold food down when pickling or fermenting food. Good for storing food long term and keeping critters out of flour!

Purchasing the 5-gallon pails and lids was on my bucket list for a while. These are excellent for long-term storage. Each lid has a rubber seal to protect the contents from various damaging elements.

I purchased several pails 20 years ago. They were made in the USA. Food grade. Those pails were thicker than these. The price is comparable. These did not stay firm when I attached gamma seal lids. They flexed making the job harder. The old pails were easy. I believe the quality has degraded.

U can't beat having these quality of buckets for cost. It's hard to put the top on but once it's on it's on and is not coming off.

These seal very good. You have to use at least 4 lb rubber mallet. Don't be afraid of hitting lid edge per instructions. Move around the lid a little at a time. Got a work out lol.Will buy again!
