I had to figure out how to prepare the lid for use, but once I did that the buckets sealed well and are very useful.

Wherever you begin your hammering of the lid to fit on, go in a circle from there. I thought to go across from each other, like when tightening lug nuts on a car, but no! Go a few inches away, in the circle, and the rubber mallet helps it seal real easy. These are great for storing!

Love that they’re food grade and I can use them in my kitchen and my garden. When I roast chilis and tomatoes for salsa I can dump them all in one of these guys befor blending together instead of having to find a dozen smaller containers. Use them to carry compost out, veggies in, and a million other uses. The simple things in life

I ordered these to keep rodents out of our bird seed kept in the garage. The other 5 of the 6 ordered will come in handy for lots of other items I need a snug lid for, Eg. food and flower seeds I bought this past spring, but didn't get a chance to use. I'll keep them in 1 of these containers to keep them fresh in our cold storage room in the basement. The containers are food grade, are really heavy duty and can be stacked. Only tricky thing is opening them once sealed for the first time - have to pull off the strip on the lid. I have severe arthritis in my hands, so I use a flat head screw driver for leverage to remove the lids. Better too snug than not air tight.

Just had these delivered and removed them from the box inside the house and woah! What a smell!!! I had to carry them outside. If the smell isn't gone by tomorrow these will have to go back, there's no way I would store food in these.This was a repeat order and the last order had no noticeable odor. I'll update this tomorrow. If the smell dissipates it's all good. Gave it two more stars.UPDATE: I left them outside overnight and the next morning the odor was gone. I bought a 2 pound rubber mallot from HF to seal the lids.

These are great, tight fitting lids as needed for a reliable seal. If you are soft, have a limp handshake, aren't sure which restroom to use, you'll struggle to get these lids on. Find yourself a qualified man to help ya.

The buckets are very handy to use. I have started buying up items I use the most before the prices go higher. They seal great to protect the food I am storing in them. I am thinking about ordering more.

I used this to store stuff, these were sturdy, clean, great lids and I would definitely recommend this product. As for the value, although these were cheaper than some/most, I still think its way to high for PLASTIC. But where there is a need, I feel its capitalized on. In my opinion, it doesn't cost that much to produce it, regardless of its quality. That said, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND THIS SELLER, NO PROBLEM, AND NO PROBLEMS.

I ordered a set of these to store food in. I liked them so much that I ordered another set. They're good quality, they're sturdy, definitely worth the price! Just make sure that you perfectly a-line the cover before pressing down to seal it. I used a rubber mallet to gently push the covers down.

These buckets were just what I was looking for to store grain long term. They have a rubber seal inside the lid, and the lid has a seal on the outside. It does make it a challenge to get the lid on, but once it is the seal is tight. Used with mylar bags and O2 absorbers.
