Mission: The Book Fairies is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that collects reading materials for people in need throughout metropolitan New York. The reading materials foster literacy and academic success, provide a respite from personal struggles, and nurture a love of reading across age groups.

Results: Since 2012, The Book Fairies has helped increase the literacy rates across metropolitan New York by providing free books to classrooms and community outreach programs. Over 1 million books have been distributed to date.

Target demographics: children and adults living in local under-served communities

Direct beneficiaries per year: thousands of people in need by donating over a million free books.

Geographic areas served: Long Island and Metropolitan New York City

Programs: providing better access to free reading materials and literacy programs to combat the high rates of illiteracy in our area.
