I bought this to hike on the Appalachian trail. It is August now in North East America, so I expected mosquitos and more. I bought Cutter for a hike in Florida a few years ago, it was highly recommended by the locals. It worked wonders, I barely got attacked. Some mosquitos are just evil mutants and brave the spray. I do not know if the formula for cutter changed since then or if up North our mosquitos are more vicious, but I and my group still got eaten up. I can only imagine that it would have been far worse without the spray but I got 6 bites on my face, 5 on my arms and 8 on my legs. 19 bites was not what I expected especially since I sprayed it on like I was wearing perfume to date night. For an 8 hour hike, I applied this at least once an hour from head to toe and then to my backpack. I expected a few bites from mosquitos willing to brave the bug spray barrier. But alas, I was wrong. I and 3 others used a can and a half of this stuff. They all got their fair share of bites as well. I will point out, we had no issues with ticks or other biting insects so I gave this 3 stars instead of 2. Not sure how it would hold up in a City with a lower bug population, but it sure was not as successful as I would have liked in the woods. I will try the rest of it at a local city park, if it is more successful than the brand OFF in such an environment I will update this review. If you see no update, assume OFF works better for me in NYC. Use at your own risk. EDIT I have gone to my local park twice since my hiking adventure. I spent all day at the park each time, roughly 9 hours. On my first trip to the park I reapplied this regularly. I only got bit once. For the second trip I got bit three times. To be fair, I only used it twice that day. Overall I would give this product 3 1/2 stars. But that is not an option so my rating will remain a 3. This product works very well in a city environment but failed to deliver the promised results when I was out hiking. I would use this again to go to the park but NOT for hiking.

Works well and doesn't feel as greasy as other types. Wish I could find larger containers as 4 oz goes in no time.

Great product

I went to Ghana with this and my legs look like I didn't bring any bug spray, i.e. I have a bunch of bites that have now left scars. I'm giving two stars because I continued to use it everyday given I had no other choice.

I like the smell of this. Not too overpowering and gross. Much better option than any other I have tried.

Smells like bug spray-- no mosquito bites!

I bought this locally and was not happy. The dry does repel vs the wet. When you spray it and rub it in. We (3 of us) were coughing like crazy do to the smell. We had watering eyes and coughing. No we didn't spay it on our faces it was just that potent. My husband refers it to pepper spray. I wouldn't buy this DRY one again.

I did get a mosquito bite on my ankle in Rio de Janeiro even though I ran just from the hotel into the taxi. But, you have to USE the insect repellent whenever you are outside- even for a minute. Cutter works if you use it!

The reason why I chose this 25 DEET can was because I thought 25 would not melt nail polish so badly. Well in fact it worked even much stronger than regular nail polish remover and did instant melting. Also the pen color coating is easily off to hands. Other plastics too I think. So for this reason I will probably not use this again and threw two bottles away right after vacation. But it did work to some degrees for Bahamas sand fly. And the cap design is nice with lock feature.

The can is smaller than expected for the price. I was shocked when I saw the size. You can get a larger can of Cutter at retail locally for a 1/3 less. However, the product is the same. It works for its intended purpose.

Worked well for my trip to Zambia. I liked that it wasn't greasy.

I like that it doesn't go on so wet. I'm not a bog fan of bug spray but sometimes it's needed. This goes on relatively dry. It's a bit more expensive that some other sprays, but it has a better percentage content of DEET and again I like that it is dry to the touch right away. I would definitely buy it again.

Good protection, but a little oily. I had to put it on in my shower so the floor wasn't too slippery. No mosquito bites, bur requires re-application every 8-12 hrs.

Love how this dries quickly and you can't feel any residue on your skin after application. It lasts a long time so you don't have to be reapplying too frequently.

I use it on myself and my dogs and it actually keeps the bugs away for quite a long time. Not bad smelling like some repellents.
