Mission: Our mission is to:* Introduce the public at large to the sport of rowing * Provide rowing, training, and related programs for high school students and adults, novice and experienced rowers, from Bainbridge Island and throughout Kitsap County. * Provide coaching and education for rowers, coxswains, and others interested in supporting BIR * Provide training for local, regional, and national rowing competition.

Target demographics: novice and varsity high school and masters rowers and people interested in learning the sport of rowing

Programs: Our purpose is to promote all facets of the sport of rowing. BIR activities take place at Waterfront Park on Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island and throughout the greater Puget Sound area. BIR is a member of USRowing, Northwest Region. BIR participates in many competitive rowing regattas for high school varsity and novice rowers and for masters rowers. BIR also offers Learn-to-Row classes from early spring until fall to educate new interested community participants in the sport. BIR provides scholarships to cover the cost of rowing for junior and master rowers in need.
