For whatever reason, the red vent cap is just a friction fit. I've gotten around this issue by using the tank vertically and never letting it get over 1/2 full, but adding an additional threading step to the machining of the main cap would make this tank perfect. 5 Gallons of waste water weighs around 40lbs and having to carefully remove the tank if you let it get full is almost guaranteed to slop gross water out of the vent. Other than the vent cap, the tank is great. It's got the perfect form-factor for my setup to sit vertical right under the sink and is the same capacity as the 5G water tanks I use for the sink pump so when I fill one, I dump the other. Simple. Please fix the main cap! Easily 5 stars if I could seal the vent when dumping.

Got this to drain my shower water into. I was hoping everything would be as described and pictured. When it arrived I was thrilled to see there were no surprises. It is very well made.I've been using it regularly for almost 2 years with no issues

I decided on a five-gallon gray water tank because even when full, I am still able to lift it. When camping solo, I can make this last 3-4 days in between emptying. The tank is all right. It mostly gets the job done. My main gripe is with the lid. I don't think the functionality justifies a $45-$50 price tag.First, I've had trouble getting the lid to screw on tightly and not leak. The rubber washer that keeps the lid snug slips out of place when I tighten the lid. This matters because the washer has two holes cut into it, one for the pressure release valve and one for the water to flow from the hose into the tank. When the washer slips out of place, that means those holes become partially blocked by the rubber washer. So I can't quite tighten the lid all the way without compromising water flow and ventilation...but when the lid isn't tightened all the way, water dribbles out of it. I've had to accept that there will be some dribbling from the lid, which is frustrating--I'm trying to avoid polluting or attracting bugs and animals with gray water smells.Secondly, I am not convinced the pressure valve is big enough. When the lid is fairly tight, water drains into the tank very, very slowly and sometimes not at all. Loosening the main lid lets more air escape and speeds up the draining (while also further contributing to water dribbling out...). That suggests to me that the valve isn't doing its job very well.I have not, however, had the issue others have complained about in terms of the valve cap falling off during transport. Transport of the full tank has been easy and emptying it is also pretty easy. I keep a small container of important doodads in my camper so that I don't lose the valve cap. Others have complained that it's hard to fully empty the tank but I have not experienced that. All in all, this is the best 5-gallon option I was able to find so I'll keep using it, but the design could definitely be improved especially at this price point.

We needed a gray water tank of particular dimensions and this was perfect

Perfect. Very durable. The grey water tank always fills up quick. It was nice to drain out 4-5 gallons ever other day so we could shower. Very easy to handle. Just fill it up and put it in the truck. Not complicated at all. Didn't need to hook up a hose to fill it and to empty. If you are looking just to get rid of a little grey water. This is it!

Does what it's supposed to do. Doesn't take up a lot of storage space. Only wish it had a way to see how full it was.
