Mission: Since 1984, Bacoa - Barrington Area Council on Aging - has been committed to enhancing and improving the quality of life for aging adults and their families. Bacoa’s targeted services and our staff’s superior expertise help navigate the dynamics of aging, while our programs and activities keep older adults connected to the community, and living life on their own terms. Programs include: Meals with Wheels; Alzheimer's, Caregivers and Low Vision Support Groups; Assistance with government benefit's; Income Tax preparation; An adult day program for individuals with early to mid-stage memory loss; Memory Cafe; Information and referral services related to Homecare; Independent and Assisted Living communities; Skilled Nursing and Memory Care; Community Education programs. Bacoa also offers classes and programs for active older adults that includes a Monthly Lunch club; Outsiders Walking Club; Lunch & Bingo; Trips & Outings; Games; Art programs; and other things. Programs are held both live and via Zoom.
