I drive a 96 ford ranger so to no one's surprise it blew a gasket and coolant was everywhere I was going to replace the radiator anyway so I figured why not save time and money and give this a try followed the instructions and it worked flawlessly not a single drop of water after I highly recommend especially if you have a old ford.......unrelated I installed the new radiator and it ran cold for a month and then the transmission went out so glad I used this stuff rather than get the gasket replaced. Lesson learned should have got a Chevy

Worked as intended Not a miracle fix but enough until we were able to have work done on vehicle.

I had a cylinder 5 misfire code for the past few months. I changed plugs, coilpacks, O2 sensor, and cleaned the injectors. I finally noticed water on my spark plug, that turned out to be coolant.I finally realized, it was a cracked head. The fix was more than the vakue if the car. I tried the Bars Leak and followed the complicated instructions. Now there is no more misfire and the car runs great again!

My Bounder RV developed a coolant leak. I think the water was going into the exhaust system as the combustion leak test checked out OK and there was never any water in the oil. But it would use a gallon of coolant ever 150 miles or so. So I decided to try the Bar's Leaks repair. I followed the directions. They say to not mix this with antifreeze. Because of the leak I had only been using water in my system for a while so it was fully flushed. Initially I wasn't sure whether it worked and I didn't want to waste a bunch of new antifreeze. So I decided to leave the Bar's leaks water mixture in the system and go on my 2000 mile vacation. I figured it would continue to plug leaks along the way. The repair seems to have worked because I didn't have to add anymore water to the system.Now that I'm home I'll flush out the Bar's Leaks and install some fresh antifreeze. I won't be using the RV for a few months but I'll update this review if there are any problems. But I got a good feeling about the repair and would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation as mine.

Stuff works, has so far. You must however, make certain that the cooling system has been flushed of ALL coolant.

What they don't tell you, for some reason.I called Bar's and asked them how to use it. This is what the woman told me to do:Drain the coolant. All of it. Then flush the engine with clear water.Then, flush it again. While you're at it, flush it again.Drain the engine, and flush it again.Fill it with water, run it until just warm, wait till it cools, and drain. Let the engine get cold.Now, flush it again. You need to get EVERY DROP of coolant out of the engine.So, flush it again.When the water is running crystal clear, let it drain out.If you can, rig a bypass hose where the heater hoses connect to the engine block. This will keep the heater core from being plugged.Since we're at it, flush it again.Fill the radiator with the product and water, according to directions on the box/bottle.Start the car, and run it until it reaches normal operating temperature, about 20 minutes or so.Shut it down. Go eat supper, have a glass of wine, watch a movie, and go to bed.Get up and have breakfast. When you feel like it, head outside.Start the car. Run it until it gets warm. Shut it down, and wait until it cools.Drain the cooling system, and flush it. Now, flush it again. Have a beer and a smoke. Now, flush it again.Just to make sure, flush it again.BTW, replace the heater hoses. Better now than when you're freezing your butt off. Put the heat on HIGH, fan on or off.Refill with fresh coolant and water, start the engine, leave the cap off, and fill until full. A 6 pack or a pint of Rye helps.If you have to do it in winter, have a warm place to park the car, or you might crack the block.You should be good to go!
