I love these boots this is the second pair I have bought the first straight from Bates and I paid right around $200 I was thrilled to find opentip and the low price posted for the same boots that Bates is still charging around $200 for I was a little worried that I wasn't going to get what I ordered but everything is perfect thanks opentip

Years ago, I bought my first Bates paratrooper boots in a brick-and-mortar store in Saint Louis. Fit fine, with a limited break-in period (as is natural for such things). Having walked straight through the tread in them and with holes forming through the vamp from the creases of a couple million steps, I bought a new pair online and they fit perfectly. My husband liked their look on me so much that they wanted a pair and so, with their measurements, we figured out what would fit them and ordered another pair online--which fits them perfectly.You can't go wrong with these boots. Quality build that lasts. The only weak spot is that it takes a little bit to stretch the leather on the strap that goes over the zip so it can button up right while being worn, and that's just a function of the materials involved. Give it two weeks and it's fine.

It looked like a beautiful boot, but it just didnt fit. Im plus size and have thicker ankles/calves than thinner people. These boots werent flattering when it came to tying them over my calves.

I really like the zippers, so I don't have to mess with the laces, and the 11 tops are cool, I couldn't find any others. They shine okay, but the cap toes are too soft, so the wax cracks and flakes off. The field soles are very good, too.

Most comfortable of my 8 pair of boots. One of the zippers is difficult but otherwise no problems and many compliments from the BLUF crowd.

I work in EMS, and have wide feet. They are very comfortable and give amazing support. I am a lady, so I suggest ordering 2 sizes down if you want a really snug fit around the toes, I ordered a size and a half down so it gives a little more room. They give amazing protection for the toes, as I've stopped really heavy stretchers with them. I am very happy with the purchase and I would buy it again!

working in corrections as an officer. Being on the floor all day on concrete. These boots hold up great. The toe box is a a little bit big, however it's not unbearable. Working 8-16 hours I can say these do the job well.

Using these for a ghostbusters costume and they fit great, they're a little snug but that's probably because i got an 8.5 instead of the normal 9 that i wear, but they still fit pretty much like a glove. highly recommend

Great boot for the price. Do not go off of your regular sneaker size. If you have access to a brannock device, get your size from that as well as utilize Bates sizing chart. I normally wear a size 10 in sneakers and running shoes. I got my foot digitally scanned at Red Wing and it turns out I am an E width and my left foot is a 9.0 and my right foot is a 9.2. I got 9.5 and I wear thick wool socks to make this work for me. I could also double sock with running socks and my thick wool socks to get an even better fit. The toe and heel are a patent leather (it looks like at least) that you can do a nice spit shine to if you feel so inclined.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical about buying boots online as I usually like to try shoes on. The quality of these boots was absolutely spectacular the leather is fantastic and the fit is spot on!
